THIS SITE AND THE CREATIONS IT FEATURES ARE LABORS OF LOVE NEARLY 35 YEARS IN THE MAKING. 

When I first envisioned Worker Bee Design as a freelance graphic-design entity in 1987, I was still working for other companies. When I retired as a graphic designer from Texas A&M University in 2013, I desired a way to continue constructing and distributing beautiful works, and with the benefit of my newfound freedom, I pivoted from high-tech design to hands-on creation. 

It was around this time that I both discovered stained glass and began buying Band-Aids in bulk. 
The two happenings are not unrelated.

Small in size but great in adorable, this latest addition to the Worker Bee hive collection of stained glass is our Tiny Hive. Done in the copper foil technique with six hexagons and one hand-painted tiny yellow bee, this "tiny" hive measures 3 3/4" wide and 3 7/8" tall with the bee adding just an approximate 1/4" more length as he dangles from his little chain. (Notice his tiny little stinger! He's too cute for words!) Each piece is hand-cut and hand-made right in our studio here in Oregon. We sure do love our bees.
